2025 Honda CRF 250F Maintenance Schedule: What to Service and When

Regular maintenance is key to getting the best performance and longest life out of your 2025 Honda CRF 250F. Whether you’re hitting the trails every weekend or riding casually around your property, sticking to a consistent maintenance schedule helps ensure your dirt bike remains reliable, responsive, and fun to ride.

At Wood Powersports Harrison, we serve riders across Harrison, Bergman, and Bellefonte, AR, and we’re here to help you understand exactly what your CRF 250F needs—and when.

Initial Break-In Service (After First 100 Miles or 10 Hours)

The first few hours of riding are the most important for long-term engine health. Be sure to complete the following after your initial rides:

  • Change engine oil and replace oil filter
  • Inspect and adjust valve clearance
  • Check spokes, bolts, and fasteners
  • Inspect air filter and clean if necessary
  • Lubricate drive chain and check tension
  • Inspect brakes and tire condition

Every 10 Hours / After Every Ride

Routine checks after each ride help you catch small issues before they turn into big ones:

  • Clean and oil the air filter
  • Check engine oil level
  • Inspect brake pads, fluid levels, and function
  • Clean and lube the drive chain
  • Check tire pressure and condition
  • Inspect throttle and clutch cables
  • Look for loose bolts, leaks, or unusual wear

Every 20 Hours

Once you’ve ridden for about 20 hours, it’s time to perform a few deeper inspections:

  • Change engine oil and replace filter
  • Check valve clearance and adjust if needed
  • Clean and inspect spark plug
  • Check and adjust clutch free play
  • Check suspension components and linkage
  • Inspect fuel lines and connections
  • Check battery connections and charge level (if applicable)

Every 50 Hours

At this stage, your CRF 250F will benefit from more thorough maintenance:

  • Replace spark plug
  • Flush and replace brake fluid
  • Replace coolant
  • Inspect and lubricate wheel bearings
  • Inspect steering stem bearings
  • Inspect swingarm and linkage bearings
  • Check electrical connections and lighting (if equipped)
